Require experience, but need experience to get experience

Not a case I am looking to jump on regularly but it is just a point that I wanted to address and share my experiences.

So being a student the plan was move to Birmingham, find a fashion related job, become a big success ect ect, but the last 9 months it seems that all employers want to put my plans on halt. I understand that employers have to hire the best people for the position but how are they able to tell who that is from a CV.

The amount of paper and printing ink I have used printing of CV's and the time I have spent going round to every fashion retail shop must amount to a good years worth of work. Unless you have the biggest names in the retail industry in BOLD on your CV they are just not interested. It all comes down to needing 'experience', but how am I supposed to get experience if I need experience to get experience and the experience that I do have, just because it isn't in Selfridges or Harvey Nichols just isn't good enough. All I want is to make it to interview stage then I would show them that although my I lack the TOPSHOP's and River Islands I am just as good as a contender and am worth the time.

I'm fighting a losing battle I know so therefore I will print of another STACK of CV's and once again head to the city where, the staff will give me false hope by accepting my CV but we both know that I don't stand a chance!!!
HELP ME PLEASE!!!

So as you may know I am a fashion student studying Fashion Retail Management and I am coming to the end of my first year. I really don't wish to spend my summer holiday back in Luton doing and I really want to boast my experience and get out into the fashion world.

So if anyone knows of any good fashion opportunities from PR work to assistant to a Visual Merchandiser I will be be forever grateful. Preferably in London as I do love the capitol.

Thank you guys x

Yes I am officially no longer a Starbucks virgin. I know its taken me 19 years to actually purchase something, but I couldn't take looking at all the photos on Tumblr and not knowing what the fascination was all about.

Verdict? I am a regular, they should know what name to put on the cup by now. But its such a shame they haven't taken into consideration the bank account of a student, I will have to cut my intake down before my bank starts calling me saying that someone called Starbucks keeps with drawing money.
